Fayetteville, NC September 28, 2009 - The fourth round of the 2009 Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series Championship chase will roll into Fayetteville Motor Speedway Saturday October 3rd for a 50 lap showdown paying $5,000 to the winner plus all those points up for grabs.The 2009 Clash Cup points looks this way after 3 Clash Chase features Jeff Smith of Dallas is the 2009 Clash Chase frontrunner by 25 points over Dennis "Rambo' Franklin of Gaffney entering this duel on the 4/10 mile clay oval in it's 39 season of racing in the Cape Fear Region of the Tar Heel state.
Defending and 5 time Clash Champion Ricky Weeks of Rutherfordton is third in the Chase points showdown trailing Smith by 37 markers going to the action at FMS this Saturday night.Weeks one Carolina Clash win so far this year came at FMS back in May. Franklin won the Ed Gibbons Memorial Clash show in April. Tim "The Toolman" Allen of Kannapolis took the Clash top honors back in July on the Blue Collar third stop at FMS this season. This will be the 36th all time Clash show at FMS as the tour returns to it's roots in Fayeteville, NC again this season.
Jeff Smith is the two time NAPA Super Late Model champion at FMS and is the 2009 FMS points leader over Craig Shuffield in the FMS points chase for the year. Smith has took 5 2009 Clash checkers for the most wins on the 10th year touring Clash Series and Franklin is second with 4 wins to his credit entering this battle royal at FMS.
Weeks has posted the most Clash wins at FMS with 6 wins in his outstanding racing career while Jeff Smith and Greensboro's long time veteran Ray Tucker both have 5 Clash wins along the way in 9 plus seasons at FMS. This will be the 197th all- time Carolina Clash feature under Clash Promoter Larry Lee and he's looking a stellar field of top drivers for this showdown and again thanks everyone for your support this year Looking at the drivers still in contention for the Carolina Clash crown this year in fourth place it's 2009 Clash Rookie Frontrunner Chris Ferguson followed by Tim Allen in the fifth spot.
Dan"The Man" Breuer has moved to sixth place while Doug Sanders is seventh after the Wythe Raceway showdown that Franklin won in late September.Rookie contenders Justin Labonte and Luke Roffers are eighth and ninth in the Carolina Clash title chase for the season and 2008 Clash Rookie of the Year winner on the Clash circuit Scott Neighbors is tenth in the Nichols Plumbing entry.

The winner of this Carolina Clash show this Saturday night will get a nice trophy from Martin "The Van Man" Roberts of Fayetteville in memory of the late area racer Tom Usry of Broadwy, NC, who won over 300 races and many Championships in his long career and "The Silver Fox" Usry passed away recently and will be missed by many fans and friends.
Race fans can register to win a nice Gas grill to be given away this Saturday night at FMS and this will be a FMS points race for the year as the points will end after the Thanksgiving event at FMS for all classes..
